Wow, Really? A Bomb Threat?

Seems like people these days are bored to do something or maybe they refused to take a midterm. >_>

After being tortured by my former professor during my math midterm, everything was going okay...but the midterm wasn't okay. -_-

Heading to Adv. Reading, we have a sub. Somehow we have a huge increase in subs. This sub, filling in for Ms. Rowley for a few weeks (who knows what happened to her), is pretty cool! Since class was cancelled on Tuesday, we had to make up what we're supposed to do today.

As the sub passed out our pop quiz, all of the sudden, the intercom turned on. And the whole class froze...

"Attention... attention... this is an order of evacuation. IVC has received a bomb threat. Evacuate the building this instant."

I'm like... "Holy... shit. You serious, right?"

"Leave your stuff here, class!" the sub said.

What? It's an evacuation order... you want US to leave our stuff in the classroom?? Hell no! I'm taking my stuff with me.

I grabbed my bag, which contained my laptop and personal stuff. But it was too late for me to grab my Adv reading books on my desk.

The whole campus was evacuating within minutes after the order of evacuation was set. I was separated from my class. So I ended up lost. But the sub wouldn't care, right?

I've been through several lockdowns, but not in college. And all of the lockdowns I've been through didn't cause the school to be closed. I wasn't sure of how IVC will get back to normal with a bomb threat that was deemed very serious and severe.

I started tweeting the news about it via text, I even sent the news to Imperial Valley Press and KSWT's twitter, just so they were "in the know".

As more news finally came, the school was officially closed. It was definetly too late to get my books. I wonder how will I get them back. At around 1 pm, everyone that evacuated were sent home. Students that were trying to get to IVC were sent back home. Children from the IVC preschool were being picked up by parents.

Once everyone started to get home, news crews came, and emergency authorities came to the school as well. I am HOPING they find a bomb.

I got news at around 5 pm. The school was finally clear and remained closed till tomorrow. Supposibly there was a suspicious package at the College Center that the bomb squad took care of. That, however, is not a bomb. Then, another suspicious package was reported at the old biology lab (room 403). That wasn't a bomb either.

Wow, waste of time, but to be honest, it was worth evacuating. It was for the sake of our lives as students in IVC. What if a real bomb went off and we never have gotten a warning? I had those kinds of scenarios in my head in my drive home. They can't seem to get away. Now IVC will be very careful on things, not just earthquake-wise, bomb-wise, too.

April is officially a "wtf" month...

Graphic Design Project: A CD Cover of Ryan Farish ^_^

After completing my previous project, which was creating 8 pictograms, my next project makes me want to go to somewhere super quiet so I can gather ideas for this next project I'm working on.

I know I don't write about my graphic design projects on this blog (but I twitpic them :P), this is just different, because I'm writing what I will be doing.

Yesterday I asked my twitterers about suggestions for artist/bands that are great for my project. I am instructed to create (or redesign) a CD cover for an artist/band. All were great suggestions, but to be honest, when I tallied up the songs, Ryan Farish and Lady Gaga were my top 2. Later I will decide on what CD cover I will turn in to Mr. Olmedo for critique.

I decided to work on some photography, as Ryan Farish's music is based on nature. For Lady Gaga, I may look for some pics online. (with credit given).

Spring Break.... what the hell.....

*sigh* I WANNA STAY AWAY, DAMN IT!

My spring break started last Wednesday, which starts off with Jury Duty last Thursday.

Jury Duty.. where can I begin. To be honest, it's not what I thought it would be. I thought that once I came to the courthouse I was immediately assigned a trial. But it's not! I kinda didn't read the keyword of the letter: PROSPECTIVE.

I came to the courthouse on April Fools Morning. It was pouring. Literally. I woke up super early to get my coat out. And had to get through morning traffic.

To be completely honest.. I've wasted 30 minutes of my precious life in the courthouse.

The lady in charge of the jurors did not select me to waste my spring break in the courthouse, hearing a trial that was supposed to last all next week. I'm half-happy, half-mad. Why? I'm glad I didn't get to sacrifice my spring break for the jury position. But I heard you get paid $15 a day to do it! >_<>_<).

I was just informed that my cousins in Mexicali have another week off of school (they were just about to conclude their 2-week Spring Break). Lucky them, I still have to go back to IVC on the 12th.

Speaking of IVC, most of you all know that there could be a possibility that I may change my major (again. >_>). I'm still exploring the field of graphic design and multimedia web design. I wont break the news to my parents yet, since this news wont be official till I schedule an appointment with my counselor in May. My minor will remain the same, though, which is Geology (yes, I still love earth science, including Meteorology). Since Ms. Germani "won the bitchfest" on the week of March 28, because she didn't believe me when I was absent one Tuesday (when I was very sick and sent to the ER), I kinda lost interest in the major. To be honest, it's not what I was expecting from the major. I was expecting a lot more. All they offer in this major is just 2 classes. Of course Graphic Design is a requirement for it, but I decided to go further to that subject. I've been doing very well in my latest designs. I started to think: maybe art does run in the family... three of my uncles studied art in college, my grandma (dad's side) is an artist...lemme give it a try!

My parents and I are in the talks of visiting my hometown on Friday the 23rd, then maybe take a weekend to HOLLYWOOD, CA! I haven't been to Hollywood in ages! I know it's going to be a blast. Can't wait to visit my C-Town friends again, but what I don't want to see is *cough cough*. >_>

Oh, speaking of *cough cough*. Remind me to disconnect the house phone on April 22nd, 2010. Apparently there's a stalker on the loose. >_>

The 7.2 Easter Sunday Earthquake (Part 3)

It was the scariest Easter Sunday of my life...somehow I may never sleep again.

THE EARTHQUAKE AFTERMATH

Sunday night into Monday morning was the worst night of my life. I could not sleep, not even a blink. After surveying the damage the violent 7.2 earthquake made, it was even harder to think all of it happening. Monday was the day to clean up. And to be honest, it won't be pretty.

And to add it up, strong aftershocks kept me awake as well.

I saw that my laptop was on the edge of my desk after the quake. So for safety reasons, I decided to put it away until things get smoother. The kitties, Serafina and Miki stayed in my room for the night.

Once I tried falling asleep, a 5.1 aftershock brings me off of my bed. It's going to be a long night.

I went on Martin's channel via iPod touch. Jesskitty was there. I decided to leave it on throughout the night instead of leaving the lappy running.

Another aftershock occurred, 4.5. Not as strong as the other one, but it did scare the kitties.

A 5.7 aftershock came at around 5 AM and I decided to quit sleeping. When I see that the channel got active, I fell asleep. I only got a total of one hour of sleep that night.

Monday was a cleanup day. I took down all of my frames and wall decorations, so I wont lose some of them again like what I did to my wall mirrors.

But it was also a chaotic day as well. Stores were very limited. Most business were closed because of earthquake damage. Even the nearby grocery store, which lost mainly their merchandise, and their roof. My dad's store was a wreck, too, losing the store's roof as well. From what I see, it was a total disaster. Gas stations running out of gas. Only one store is open and it's packed with frantic people. Long lines were also common. Looters were everywhere. It was a scene I've never saw in my whole life.

Calexico is worse. The whole Historic Downtown (where I always go shopping every other weekend), is completely destroyed. It's a whole different scene.

My spring break was gone to waste. Instead of being carefree, I have to be careful. Plus I couldnt leave the house for most of the week.

On Wednesday was a day to say "Well, it's not gonna shake that much anymore, right?". I returned to my carefree mood and left the house. Just that I wont be visiting my family in Mexicali for a couple more weeks till it's about 70% recovered. We do plan to donate, too.

IVC suffered minor damage to the swimming pool. Classrooms are in good shape, so we're still coming back on the 12th. *insert screaming "booo" here* j/k

The last of the aftershocks came on Thursday with a magnitude 5.3. This raises the danger of the EC water tower, in danger of collapsing. Which I am also keeping watch...I live about a mile from it. O_o

It was the scariest Easter Sunday of my life...somehow I may never sleep again.

As my parents, sister, and I finally left, we found out that the Calexico west port of entry (aka teh bordurr >_>) was closed. I heard that Calexico suffered a lot of damage. It was unsafe to cross. No wonder it wasnt moving! The Calexico East Port of entry was open, so we rushed over there. 3 hour waiting time to cross. But it was worth it, for the sake of our house.

I was also having trouble texting/twittering still. Texts wont go through, and I started to think my twitterers are sending DMs like crazy. Once I get signal, I'll be swamped with texts.

We finally got ahold of my sister Adriana, who lives in Holtville. She had suffered much damage. Two of her plasma TVs fell to solid ground. Also suffered broken glass as well. This started to worry me. What if our TVs fell to solid ground as well? I started to panic a bit. I also worry about my laptop, which was sitting there with IRC on.

We got back home at around 10:30. Praying that most of our valuables (TVs, computers, etc) are safe and stable. We came in and find extensive damage. The large TV is safe. The main vase in the living room is safe. The kitchen was chaotic. Half of the dishes cabinet was empty. Broken glass everywhere. Drawers open.

My kitties Serafina and Miki came out of hiding under the dining table. I got to hug them both. I decided to head to my room. I passed by my little sister's room, her bookshelf was knocked over. All her books fell. I opened the door of my room...finding most of my books and boxes on the floor. My TV and laptop were safe. Only close exception was that the laptop was very close to falling, but my spinny chair was holding it. My wall mirrors fell and broke. Many frames fell as well, but did not break.

Most of the damage wasn't bad. We havent lost anything valuable. I feel bad for my sister, though, losing her two TV's. The garage was a huge mess as well. A lot of stuff fell out of shelves, my old TV fell to the ground (it's already dead, anyways :P) and one water pipe broke. My dad and I were able to tie it up in time.

That night, I was finally able to get things back in place, but want to start clean up the next day. I got back online and able to connect to Martin's channel. Patrick and Jesskitty were the ones in. They were worried about me. I was so happy to have come back home. If something bad had happened, I wouldn't be in there. I also tweeted to my twitterers that I am ok. It was pretty emotional, to be honest. Just grateful that I am alive.

It was the scariest Easter Sunday of my life...somehow I may never sleep again.

My day went well as planned...until around 3:40 PM. I went to a family gathering right near San Luis, Sonora. Me and my cousin Handy were having fun, chatting about Brianna, my aunt Nora's newest daughter. It was a ranch in the middle of nowhere, owned by my uncle Rodrigo.

Somehow, I felt a sudden vibrate on the ground, thinking one of my family members owns a giant monster truck. (lol). The vibrate became a small shake when I notified my mom that I was feeling an earthquake (I have the ability to feel earthquakes, even tiny ones). Then the shake became stronger, making me want to get up and hide somewhere. Everyone on my family started to panic. I went to the nearest pole to hold on to myself. Kids are getting scared. The huge shake lasted one full minute. It was officially an earthquake.

It lasted for one minute. I mean, that has to be stronger than 5.9, the strongest I've felt in my life. I had twitter enabled on my phone so I was able to ask my twitterers to see if they can get me info.

Two of my twitterers, James and DJ, sent me information about the recent earthquake. I was shocked. And believe it or not I was the one who got the information first. Radio station signals are very bad. I notified everyone the magnitude of the quake, first a 6.9. And epicenter was about 40 miles southwest of San Luis, AZ. we were actually a bit near the epicenter. Family members now panicked enough, but the aftershocks are rolling in...

An hour later or so, DJ sent me another direct message on twitter, along with others. The quake was upgraded to a 7.2. Woah.. 7.2? That's like 2 points ahead of Haiti. We surpassed Haiti? O_o

Cellphone service was limited. I was only limited to texting. If I weren't to be texting.. I wouldn't be twittering, and my friends would be very worried. Plus, My aunt Luli, whom I havent talked in FOREVER, found my number on facebook and texted me to see if all of us are alright. Facebook, you saved my life.

7.2 I did NOT want to see the damage caused in Mexicali.. or worse, in my house. O_o

Immediately, my aunt Claudia and uncle Jorge went back to Mexicali to pick up my cousin Tony, who stayed home during the quake. He said there was so much damage in the house...TV's were on the floor, etc.

The small aftershocks did not stop our Easter fun, such as Easter egg hunts, races, volleyball, etc. We weren't worried about the damage until it was time to go.

At 6 pm, it was time to go...

We packed everything, and headed back to Mexicali. Mexicali's electricity and water was out. Forcing the city to go waterless and powerless throughout the night. Most stores are closed, except for small grocery stores, which attracted aggressive and violent people, urging for batteries, and candles. Taco shops were packed as well, as gas mains were closed. It was pretty bad. I somehow wanted to escape. Cellphone usage was dead. I could not tweet/text.

We surveyed my grandma's house.. her room was damaged badly. Her drawers came out. and broke her largest mirror. Frames of my mom and aunts fell to the ground as well.

Anistorm's Zombie Plan

ZOMBIES!!! RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O

No, don't freak out. It might not happen.

I was having this conversation with a couple of buddies during Graphic Design class, then randomly started on the topic of zombie invasion. We always wondered... when will it happen? We all started to think of a "Zombie Survival Plan". They already thought of theirs, but I'm the one who could turn into an actual zombie if I don't act fast.

So, with hard thinking, I have finally came up with one, and I will stick with it.

If a zombie apocolypse breaks out in El Centro or any other part of the Valley...

~ Pack a month's worth of clothing. I'll never know when the apocalypse may end... days, weeks, months, years.. maybe centuries?

~ Take anything IMPORTANT with. Hmm. Let's see... textbooks are important, right? I'm also taking my iPod and lappy, and celly. Hey, I gotta tweet about this, ya know. :P

~ My kitties and doggy will have to stay in an animal shelter.. sorry. :( (unless I train Abby...)

~ Find an emergency shelter. The guys say I should look for a shelter that supplies food...a supermarket perhaps? All stores will be closed down during the apocalypse anyways...

~ I won't be going alone.. I'll be taking my friends.... duh.

~ Once we're out of danger, My buddies and I will pack our stuff and move right down south to Mexico! (It's much safer, though. Pray there wont be any zombies!)

There's one thing I'm warned about... if a friend turns into a zombie. It's the ultimate sacrifice to kill him/her. I mean, he/she's already dead. If they attack you, guess what... YOU'RE TOTALLY SCREWED.

...duh.

Well, this is one of the weirdest plans I have ever come up with. I might do some updating on it if things tend to come up. Just remember.. when a zombie comes... RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, DAMN IT.

April FOOLz Day.

An 8th grade journal entry from April 1, 2004

I realized that today was April Fools Day. Ugh, I hate that day. I really hate to the fact that people pull really bad pranks on other people, including me. I am the easiest to fall for. I usually believe in what everyone says.
This morning, I met up with Roxy. She was telling me that she was pranked by her ex-boyfriend, Robert, telling her that he wanted her back. It was messed up.
During Mrs. Riser's Language Arts class, she warned all week that we were having a quiz. In the middle of class... she blasted confetti all over the classroom...and yelled APRIL FOOLS!
Wow, what a waste of studying there.
During passing period, I met up with Roxy at the restroom. Telling her the greatest idea ever: I am going to tell the whole school that there's a giant kangaroo coming!
I told Mrs. Riser about it, then the whole Language Arts class. Roxy did the same with her 1st/2nd period teachers.
As the day went on, and as lunch came, we both started to spread it all over the school, even PE class. I mean, we never thought people would actually believe it! People started to freak out, get scared, everything! Until someone squealed on us...During my last period of class, Algebra, I was called to see the principal's office. He knew about the joke, and did not fell for it. He told the school via intercom that the whole giant kangaroo situation was all a joke. My punishment? three days of lunch detention, starting on the Monday after Spring Break....

So hard to believe I wrote that six years ago...

Today, April Fools Day isn't really my holiday anymore. I kinda grew out of it. To me, it's sort of an immature holiday. From that day, I wasn't able to pull off a joke like the Giant Kangaroo joke from 8th grade. Yeah, that pissed off the principal. I almost got suspended for that, lol.

But what if I did pull off another joke that turns out to be bad? Like.. for example, telling my friends I'm prego? nahh, I'd get kicked out of the house. Telling my TWCTers that I'm leaving the forums forever? Nah, that's gonna be devestating. (although exciting for some members.. *cough cough*) See? My April Fools spirit is like.. gone. I can't make a good joke anymore.

I also tend to *smell* a joke. Which is why people can't make me fall for it 99.97% of the time. I fall for a joke or two, but not more than 3.

So.. yeah, there's a blog about this so called "holiday". Happy April FOOLz day, y'all.

The Scantron

The Scantron: the test/exam’s famous sidekick. We all used it more than once. If not, then where the hell do you go to school at?

I wanted to take the time to write a random blog about a certain item. Yes, I chose the scantron. I have used them almost all my school years, and they never stop disappearing. Yes, you will see them in college.

Most scantrons students consist of 100 answer spaces. Each number has A, B, C, D and E. Scantrons hate ink pens. So if you’re in class on Exam Day and you forgot a pencil at home, guess what… YOU’RE TOTALLY SCREWED.

Oh, and scantrons LOVE #2 pencils. Not #1, not #27. :P

The ones I use for Adv. Reading class consist of 15 answer spaces. I call them the mini-trons. And what I like about these is that the correction machine can read more than two answers, unlike the other ones.

Most students suffer with the same pet peeve: Changing the answer when you realize it could be wrong. It is a pain in the friggin ass to change the answer on the scantron. Of course, the instructions clearly said: MAKE DARK MARKS and ERASE COMPLETELY TO CHANGE. How can a DARK MARK erase COMPLETELY? You’d still get a dark mark, but it’s impossible to erase it completely. You are now left with a smudge, and had to leave it as is. Once you get your corrected scantron back. You realize that then answer was right, but the scantron marked it wrong. Blame it on that smudge. I know it has happened to you.

My only tip when using scantrons is to mark your answers LIGHTLY. Then after you finish your exam, shade your answers dark. If you made a mistake, you’re able to erase your answer completely without leaving any smudges.

So, that’s just my explanation on these so-called exam sidekicks. Learn to love them, because you know they will come your way. ;)

The Day Of Action: Education Cuts (Muse - "Uprising" )

Have you ever wondered what would happen one day you can't afford college anymore? I have, several times. I sometimes dream about it, too. It's not pretty.

As I heard this morning, thanks to a protester outside my little sister's school. She gave me a flyer, and offered me a t-shirt. No thank you. I have a reason why I did not accept your offer of a t-shirt.

The topic of this Education Cuts protest was the topic of the day in my Journalism class. Ms. Germani, my professor wants a couple of people, (including me) to cover this, for thosw who still haven't thought of anything to turn in our first reporting assignment by midnight tomorrow night. I had to get things straight now. I had plans to attend the IVC booth on Tuesday night but unfortunately, no one was there. I was prepared, too.

Today, with all this going on, I came unprepared. >_<

Unless, I can just gather some stats about this, like...how many people are against this education cuts, especially here in IVC? Ms. Germani accepts two news sources, so I'm using KTLA because they posted an online poll about it..and I'm watching it the results as they close later on today. I'm also required to interview, oh...I'm good at that, trust me (if I had a camera... >_>)

Okay, to *slightly* get back on topic (yes, enough about me and my intriguing dilemma about my 1st reporting assignment), about 30 states across the country (yes, this is a NATIONWIDE event) have planned protests. IVC is also in this, because here and several other colleges across the state are severly affected by this. Posters about this are everywhere on campus, passing out flyers and t-shirts (NO T-SHIRT FOR ME PLEASE! >_>). But....one thing I seem to wonder when I got closer to the booth... "uhh...where's the protest?"

Maybe I'm just used to action, pretty much.

My little sister's school has a protest today. I can tell, because there were already several people outside the school with picket signs and posters (and t-shirts >_>). I can get more info from there rather than here...nothing's happening (and I came unprepared >_>).

If I can, I'll be able to publish my first reporting assignment here in this blog. Not sure about it yet. But let me know if you do want to see it.

The IVC Student Portal

On July 2009, before the start of a new semester in Fall, IVC launched a new and improved web portal for students and staff/faculty to keep in touch with each other. I was one of the 1,000 new users to try it out in July. It was okay at first…

But look at it now…

Ads, pointless stuff, spamming stuff, fights, EVERYWHERE!!!!

I’m not sure how the portal is working now, (and I hardly use it anymore). But I’ve been doing some lurking.

In August the Portal made a new feature for students to “sell their stuff” in listings, rather than posting them everywhere in blogs, entry comments, even in profile comments and messages. I really like this feature, but I just don’t understand why people don’t use it wisely. Let me tell you person who is reading this blog (and I know you’re one of the IVCers) advertising your stuff as a blog comment, profile comment, etc, will NOT get attention. Nuff said. I also blame it on the webmaster as well, for not expanding that feature enough.

One other thing I’d like to point out…when random people add you as a friend for a pointless reason. Oh yeah, I’ve gotten many of them. I appreciate a friend request, but I just realized…it’s a competition, not a simple “Hi! I want to be your friend, what’s up?” The Student Portal has a list on the front page, which has the top members of the portal. Those top members have like 300+ points. Now I know…these people are adding every single person on the portal, just to get points and race to become the Portal’s top member. I don’t get it. That’s the most pointless thing ever. (btw, if a friend accepts a friend request, it’s 3 points earned to the person who sent the request.) There is a list of points somewhere in the portal, too lazy to show you all where. :P

I haven’t added anything much to the Portal…just a couple of pics here and there. I mean, really, I don’t do a lot much on there. I used to get in contact with The Adventure Club but they moved to Facebook. I used to read the blogs (and create blogs) but they’re now spammed by people who don’t know how to use the Listings feature (>_>). I even got a warning on a blog I made, regarding the Windows 7 offer for college students (you know, the one for $30). Yeah, got a stupid spam warning for that and had to get it removed. :/

There are things I wish for: a BLOCK button. But it’s a college portal, Its not gonna come true unfortunately.

This morning while I was working on my Take-Home final for Music class, our relationship just ended. Something I wasn't expecting when I stupidly left my facebook open on the library computers. Had been very busy, typing like nothing is going on, apparently he left so many messages on my inbox...something about a wall post.

...what wall post???

So he was waiting for me to respond...ok, let me deal with what I'm dealing with and I'll get to it soon.

On the last message, he said "goodbye Ana". I'm like... what?

...I haven't had the chance to respond and yet he ends it?????

I'm left in confusion, but I continued to finish my final before it was the time to go home for me.

He deleted me from my friends list. And, that's how I knew that it was over for us. I was twittering about what's been going on...and I was shaking in fear.

For me, I didnt cry, I didnt burst into tears. I just knew it would happen. In fact, all my friends knew.

I knew the end was at it's near, actually..when he admitted to Jesse that he used drugs. I honestly thought he quit. He lied to me, same way on how he told me that he quit World Of Warcraft. While that happened I was with Patrick discussing College Football (like we do almost every sunday). I read what he said to Jesse on Martin's channel, and I decided to not go back in. I couldnt take his lies anymore. I was shaking in fear on what's going on, I didnt want to see him.

In the past month he never believed my activities.He never believed me about going to bed, doing homework, and being on the phone with someone else (This happened numerous times when I was talking to Samantha). He even thought that I was lying about my sickness. I've had Rhinovirus for 2 weeks and I never got a Get Well Soon wish from him? I mean, what the hell?

Patrick and I know for sure that he's going downhill. We noticed hyper-sensitivity in him, and that the only person that cares is myself. After he "broke it off abruptly", I felt that he's getting sucked in that black hole much more, and I will not be able to hold on. He also needs to understand that I have a busy life, and my life is about to get huge, especially with College. I'm spending more time with my family (especially my dad's side, which I havent seen for quite a while now), also my parents depend on me now for everything. My friends, both real life and online are also the most important, and I dont know what I'll do without them. To be honest, he doesnt have that. He doesn't understand my life anymore.

If I didnt take him back, I'd still be single, and I'd be loving it. I didnt want to go through this drama again like last time, nor I never wanted my friends to be involved. I took the time to get rid of the stuff again and this time they are in the trash can, not in a box at the garage. My real life friends, especially Samantha, is happy that it was all over with. "You're done??? Yay! I get to talk to you more!" She despised him every since I met her during Freshman year in college.

I also have to admit this: relationships suck. They're too hard to maintain, especially if they are long-distant and too hard to maintain if you have a busy life. I don't plan to date anyone sooner, nor to fall in love with someone online. That'd be stupid. I know, mom wants me to get married and have kids, eh, I changed my mind, I don't want to have that kind of life. I just want to be independent and live my own life as if there was no tomorrow. I know one day I'll fall in love with someone and will regret writing this paragraph. Well, I may, but this is just a reminder of what I honestly thought about relationships and love.

I know most of you didnt approve my decision of myself going back with him. It kinda reminded me of when Rihanna decided to take Chris Brown back after the domestic violence incident at the Grammys back in February. And several months later to this day I felt I didnt listen to any conscience. I thought I was doing the right thing, I did this to shut my mom up. And right now I am sad to have let my friends down, and showing a bad example to everyone. So, from now on, I will listen to my heart, and those voices that annoy me inside. I know for sure he wont be coming back. I hope to keep it that way. My life is growing and I'll let it grow, and I'm stronger than yesterday.

Well, the majority of what's going on you can't blame it on TWC. Blame it on their owner: NBC, which Comcast now has 51% of ownership with them.

Meh, ever since the layoffs, the OCMs' schedule being screwed up, the debut of Al Roker, A&B being at the worst timeslot (for west coasters that is), the originality of Your Weather Today is bleh, the era of Fail shows has begun, too much crap is being added on the screen, and it's just too much to mention.

Oh...and did I mention NEWS, NEWS, and NEWS? WTF is this now, NBC News?

Recently, according to a twitter friend, and insidercablenews.com, TWC seems to be merging on news and slowly drifting away from the weather. Yeah, they reported crime news, sex scandals, (yes, even they reported on Tiger Woods' scandal). I mean, let me ask: was it RAINING during the crime scene? What's the temperature at the time Tiger Woods had his car accident? Now tell me, during the shooting, were they under a tornado warning at the time?

"Wake Up With Al" is a failure. I'm sorry, but it's true. 0% of us west coasters "wake up with Al" (because it's 3 AM and we're uhh SLEEPING?). The 7 AM "reprise" is a fail as well. It's not the same as the live show. It's like viewing the Today show that's "LIVE" and "PREVIOUSLY RECORDED". I know, I am a huge Stephanie Abrams fan, but I just don't have the energy to watch her so early due to college. Oh and Al Roker, go somewhere else. You don't belong on TWC.

Your Weather Today...with Abrams & Bettes. Might want to scratch off the "Abrams & Bettes" part since Steph is always away from the show every week or so.

Hey TWC, why don't you just focus on other places that are dealing with a weather situation and NOT just somewhere that doesnt need attention? This happened recently. The Midwest was shivering with temperatures below zero, but noooo, the attention was focused on Houston's early snowfall.

There is only one thing that I love on TWC...and that would be Chris Warren. He's my TV crush. <3 *faints*

I can see this going much more downhill. Movies werent a good idea either, especially "Misery"...not weather related at all.

I'm done ranting about TWC....I'm glad I got it out of my system. I'm completely satisfied. :)

KISS/Buckcherry Concert at San Diego, CA

I guess I have to admit a couple of things (well maybe several, but I keep it simple). First of all, this was my very first concert I actually attended. And I went there with my dad. Well, KISS wasnt pretty much my favorite band, but it is for my dad. He's been attending his shows since he was a teenager (pretty close to my age). And, he always want to take me to one of those. Well, he reached his opportunity. KISS will be performing at San Diego (with special guest, my favorite band, Buckcherry!).

The Sports Arena was packed I gotta say! Got the tickets, and I was amazed to say that my dad bought the best seats ever! And he got them at a pretty good price too!

Buckcherry started to perform at 7:30 sharp. They have a new album that (I think) it's now available. They performed great songs such as "Crazy Bitch", "Rescue Me" (my favorite out of all), and "Next To You". They also performed some old ones such as "Sorry".

At 8:30, the stage was in preparation for what was going to be the best show ever, me and my dad drank lots of water, soda (and he drank a beer :P), because we are gonna be loud. My dad says, "Prepare yourself, KISS is 10 times louder than Buckcherry". Uhhh, I think I left my ear plugs at home. O_o

And...the show begins....with the words:
"ALRIGHT SAN DIEGO! *insert dad scream here* YOU WANT THE BEST? YOU GOT THE BEST! THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD! KISS!!!! *insert another dad scream here*"

and finally it begins with a BANG. Literally.

KISS performed a wide variety of classics such as "Deuce", "Rock and Roll All Night", "Calling Dr. Love", "God of Thunder", and some others I forget alot that I need my dad to remember. :P

"Rock and Roll All Night" was one of the best performances ever. It was the time I got to jump and sing to the song (even if I dont even know the full lyrics of the song). I did the same with "Calling Dr. Love". They ended the show with "Detroit Rock City". And it was just amazing...

What's more amazing that we were so close to the stage (and the band!). It was perfect for me to take pictures and maybe some video clips from my cellphone (which I should upload them when I get a chance). The explosion was so loud it almost destroyed my hearing (sarsactically :P), and the flames were so warm, why the hell did we bring a jacket? And Paul Stanley flying across the stage while performing "Love Gun" was like...oh my god.

Just 24 hours later, I just couldnt stop bragging about whatever happened last night...I mean, it just happened. and I totally forgot the fact that I have (and recovering from) Rhinovirus. I bought a few Buckcherry songs on iTunes, I started listening to my dad's KISS albums, I mean, wtf did I become? I have to admit one thing, I'm officially a KISS-maniac. I fell in love with Buckcherry. I mean, it was an instant. That show changed how I listen to music forever. Maybe later on when KISS is back on tour and returns to San Diego, count me in on the next show...and maybe be just a little closer to the stage... Thanks dad for showing me who truly are the Gods of Rock. KISS.

Okay, enough of your opinions about Miley, Adam, and maybe a little Lindsay. I guess it’s my turn to present to you this. A Celebrity Blog.

I’ve always wanted to rant about Miley. So, this is my chance.

Remember the time when she was going out with some guy and somehow this “dude” she’s going out with does NOT have a twitter account? Well, she was so in love, that she actually deleted her twitter account. This caused so much chaos on twitter, especially to those Miley fans who totally love her. I mean, as a twitter addict, would you delete your twitter account just because someone you totally love does not have one? Miley, just realize you have billions of fans that adore you. Be angry that I’m not one of them.

Then, there’s the pole dancing scandal. Jesse showed me a picture of her once, and that’s just got me shocked. She’s 16. She’s TOO YOUNG to perform those kinds of acts. There are fans right around my little sister’s age (she’s 7, btw) that love her and they don’t want to see her dancing so nasty.

Plus, I can see the end of Hannah Montana very soon. >:)

Shocking much?

Apparently (If I heard correctly that he’s gay?), he’s just a newbie, and he’s already getting criticized by his performance. People say its “nasty”. I say this as well, but I don’t really want to go too overboard on him. He’s fresh out of American Idol. His career is just beginning. He has a long road ahead. The only thing he needs to change, imo, is his choreography. His song is okay.

Also, speaking of the AMAs, if you look at JLO’s video of her fall…I just think that’s actually part of the choreography. At least she got up and got back to her dance okay.

The Football Weekend That Failed.

Why Friday night and Sunday night were the most talked about topics here in the Imperial Valley and more likely the whole country? Football of course. And lots of it.

First off, there's the annual Bell Game. A valley-wide event that consists of the Brawley High Wildcats and the Central High Spartans. Both of them are fighting for a bell. The last time I saw Brawley winning a Bell Game was in 2007, during my high school senior year. In fact, that was my only time.

This year (along with the previous year), Central took the bell back, and kept the bell for another year.

I have to say, this years's Bell Game was a fail.

I lost so much respect in my own team that night. They just didnt have the pizazz in their plays, and Central had the best defense as far as I heard. Brawley scored 3 touchdowns, with a score of 18 in the whole game. Something missing? As far as I know, they never go for the extra point. Instead, the always go for two! I can say that 30% of the two-point conversions made were good. Yeah, the 3 two-point conversions they made that game failed. The final score was 23-18. Of course, Central wins the game.

I mean, the head coach needs to THINK that 2-point conversions can fail sometimes, but going for the extra point is the easiest way to score, IMO.

Then there's Sunday night. Sunday Night Football with the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. Many of you football fans will remember this play forever as the “4^th down & 2 on own 28” controversial call.

Although I never got a chance to see the game, but my best friend Patrick got to fill me in on this controversial call.

It was 4^th and 2 on Patriots 28. Head Coach Bill Belenchick (sp?) wasted his last time out at 2:08 remaining on the clock. After the 30 second time out expired. He decided to GO FOR IT, not PUNT. I mean, 4^th and 2...that's kinda risky dont ya think? As the play began...Tom Brady threw the ball, and missed, giving the Colts a chance to win the game. 35-34.

I'm like, wtf? I cannot believe they gave the Colts a chance to win. Not a huge fan of both teams, but the Pats should have done better.

It's October...it was planned to be the BUSIEST MONTH of my whole first semester of Sophomore year. It all starts with a midterm for Music Appreciation & Listening.

Sooo, Music, eh? I got to learn about musical notation, musical instrument families, the fabulous lives of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Handel, etc. It's fairly easy, but except I have to listen to a ton of music from Mozart and Beethoven. I have to memorize what instruments they used in the music. >_> sweet.

For those who didnt know, On the week of October 5th, I will be gone for the week to Ensenada...just for a vacay. My parents have been planning this since that one weekend we went to Ensenada, Temperatures are fairly pleasing, like around 70-something degrees or so. Lows around the 50s. Perfect beach weather, right? I prefer beach weather in the 80s, if I want that, I would go to San Felipe. I beileve my mom and dad are planning to go there at the 2nd half of the week. I already settled stuff with my professors and yes I will be taking my college stuff with me. Yes I will take my laptop with me as well! I will come back on either the 9th (Friday) or the morning of the 10th (Saturday).

On the week of October 12, it's OFFICIAL MIDTERM WEEK. Yeah, I got Beginning Algebra w/ Emphasis in Graphing, Political Science I, and Introduction to Information Systems midterms thrown in there that week. I may have a presentation for Music Appreciation & Listening class as well...not sure...will check.

I also have club activities thrown in there as well. I plan to participate in the Adventure Club's 3rd annual Staff VS. Student Softball Game on October 16, and if I don't have plans on Saturday the 17th, I plan to participate in the Imperial Farmer's Market Octoberfest.

That is all I have planned this month, but MORE stuff will pile up as the days come.

But...oh my, I need some rest already.. and I havent reached the month yet! I've been in heroine status for 2 weeks straight and been participating in some activities at TWCT (and will continue to in October). I've been in 3 different arguments with 3 different guys (will NOT mention names). One of them, you may probably know of, the other two, I dont even want to talk about them at all.

So, okay really do need some rest. Literally. See ya whenever. :P

1. FLORIDA GATOR FAN since 2006 (Yes, the 06-07 season was my first one and I was pretty amazed they won the championship and Mike Bettes had to do the Gator Chomp on A&B hahaha)

2. UCLA is my second favorite...NOT USC.

3. Going for the GATORS, does not mean I want to be like Stephanie Abrams...ok maybe but at least we got something in common...

4. I get so hyper when Tim Tebow scores a touchdown.

5. I love to pick on/trash talk/smack talk about teams that I don't like (I'll tell you at reasons # 9 and 10)

6. I cry when my team loses (this really happened in the 08-09 season, when they lost to Ole Miss 31-30 *grrr*)

7. My team DOMINATES the BCS (Meaning: BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES. Yes they are numero uno in the country. And yes I do know what that means so you are free to ask).

8. I even have a FLORIDA GATORS sweatshirt, and I wear it whenever Florida plays. It brings me good luck I guess. Looking forward to getting the Tim Tebow Jersey!!

9. Teams I respect: Penn State, Wisconsin, Ohio State (at times...:P) UCLA, Texas, California,...there are so many I guess.

10. Teams I disrespect: USC (because four people I know go for this team, including Adam, his dad Rene, my sis Adriana, and her friend Alex. WHO CARES. Florida plays better football than USC. Meaning, better action, better players, etcetera etcetera.), Oklahoma (because they are such crybabies, they can't even make a perfect touchdown! I can prove it, I saw the BCS Title Game 2009!!!), The WHOLE SEC Conference (because they want to take revenge on my Gators. And that's messed up!)

BUT....one more thing...it's just for fun ok!! No offense taken. (unless you are a gator hater and you want to pick on/trash talk/smack talk about my team then ok, YOU'RE ON!!!)

Another Random Blog By Meh...

Another one of those so called random blogs from me...

So, it's been a month or so that I have posted one of these, so I decided to write about what has been going on this summer and how my first week of 2nd year went..

Some things are going well, some are...well you get the point...

In terms of college, my 2nd year started off great! I am loving all my classes, and it's wayyy better than last year. Also, I am hoping to make it official that my graduation year will be 2011, which is also the year I will be transferring. Can't wait!! I will put my best effort to make it. My other plans are to also get involved in a club! I plan to join the Adventure club. Looks like a great club. As of now I am doing some serious college searching so I can follow their transfer plan.

In terms of friends: I feel like I have gained a new best friend. His name is Patrick. Yeah, that one Patrick from NY, the TWCT meteorologist. He IMed me for help and support last week and this week, and I felt like I had to be by his side for everything, including those "Youtube stream incidents". I was always his backup. I do try my best tho to keep up with everything.

Anyways, I do hope everyone's semester turns out to be the best! Good luck to all!

I havent written a blog like this ever since Michael Jackson died. (seriously.) All the other blogs I said I was gonna write on here are written in a 70-page 1-subject notebook labeled "JULY".

Sooo, first of all, I am now in a softball league. I tried out, I waited for my call-back and made it in the 18-and-under league. The teammates, and the coach are awesome. I even earned a nickname, I am known as the "Newbie" of the newbie team. The teammates and I had some bad scrimmages and some practices were pretty tough. The first two games were horrific. We lost two pitchers that week and I was one of the replacement pitchers. I play outfield BTW, I am mostly center field. Today, we had a double header, and we beat both the Brawley Unknowns, and the Imperial Wildcats. My softball skills are getting there, but even though...this is the only year I am playing the league.

Also, well besides that, I have been dealing with some heroine stuff all month long, supporting and getting involved in the TWC Today Forums, and at a chatroom I'd like to call it the "Channel". :P I am one of the moderators, and I do strive to keep it safe from bastards, bitches, and other "" :P

My sophomore year in IVC begins in less than 30 days and I am having problems registering with classes (and I have to wait for some classes to open so I can get the spot). Also, I am worried about financial aid. Tuition fees have raised.

So, that's all I be blogging now...expect me to blog by the end of August. :P j/k

This past week, it was a week of despair, a week of sadness, and a week of loss. No one thought not one, two, three, but 4 celebrities would die in the same week. No one saw this coming. Especially celebrities in Hollywood, they were in complete shock.

Ed McMahon (died June 23, 2009)-He was that one famous person who is the "sidekick" of Legendary Talk Show Host Johnny Carson (RIP). He always says his drawn-out line "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeres JOHNNY!" whenever The Tonight Show start in the past decades. He also participated in various charities, and hosted the Jerry Lewis Telethon (which airs every Labor Day). Ed was 86 years old.

Farrah Fawcett (died June 25, 2009)-She was the "international sex symbol" in the 70's and 80's. She was the "original" Charlie's Angel. She was very beautiful. Everyone admired her hair, the "Farrah-do". She was diagnosed with anal cancer and she became very brave. She did a documentary about her battle against her cancer. Unforunately, she lost her battle. Farrah was 62 years old.

Michael Jackson (died June 25, 2009, hours after Fawcett)- He was the King Of Pop. Known for selling billions and billions of albums. And was also known for being a little controversial. Michael Jackson was world-famous. His death has shocked the universe. Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest suddenly, two weeks before starting his tour in England. He left a hole in every fan's soul. Michael was 50 years old.

Billy Mays (died Today, June 28, 2009) He was famously known as "that one OxiClean guy on TV". He was the "Informercial King". Billy Mays did various infomercials such as FixIt, Kaboom, OrangeGlo, Zorbeez, MightyMendit, and others more. Billy Mays died of an unknown cause (as of yet), he was found unresponsive by his wife earlier that morning. No one will see the future of informercials again. Billy was 50 years old.

As we all take a moment of silence, these celebrities have the right to be honored, for all the work they have done to influence our lives and the past forever.

Why I Hate DirecTV

I've had DirecTV since I was in the 7th grade...in which it's where I first tuned in and started watching TWC. THAT was TV then. Today...DirecTV has new recievers, new remotes...the old recievers are pointless now. Here are some reasons why I despise direcTV.

1. On TWC they have your own ZIP Code LF that appears on every LOT8's. But on certain commercial-free events and stuff...you can't seem to exit out of the stupid LF, even if you press "exit" on your remote". You have to wait two minutes for that LF to do it's "bizness".

2. Channels 100-199 are mostly DirecTV channels. They don't have that much Pay-per-view channels than before.

3. I tried the Game Corner. It SUCKS. At first I thought it was free..I ain't paying $5.99 a month for a game.

4. The Music Choices (aka Sirius XM Radio) are confusing...Every single Genre has it's own channel...and most of them are music that I really really really hate.

5. I live near Arizona, and Arizona gets no local channels. I have to hook up a good SD Antenna to watch the local channels here (some local channels are from Los Angeles and San Diego). WTF, no local channels on satellite=no satellite for meh. (as of now I have to buy a converter box to be able to watch my local channels again <_<)

6. The DirecTV guide can't travel past three days...after 5:00 PM the third day it starts saying "TO BE ANNOUNCED".

7. The remote control has pointless buttons. Even if you have an SD reciever, there is no stupid reason to use the PLAY, STOP, REWIND, FAST FORWARD, RECORD, SKIP 30 SECONDS, and GO BACK 30 SECONDS buttons. Why can't they provide an SD remote? Since all you use is the bottom half of the remote. >_>

So...I am definelty considering switching to another provider. It's CrapTV.

The music on TWC. Back in the old days it has never changed. Many people enjoyed the smooth jazz music during two minutes before a show segment came on. Back in my old days, when I was a teenager, I never really enjoyed the music...but until March 2003, I heard an awesome song. It was smooth, peaceful, that took me years to look for who it was played by. “Rushing” by Moby was the song.

I have to admit I really do enjoy the smooth sounds of the LF music. I met a friend who is an expert of that kind of music.

BUT…this year, the whole music changed. When NBC purchased TWC, they decided to play music that wasn’t made to be played in the LOT8s. This happened in Mid-April when the decided to extend the March 2009 playlist…just to put “freak music” (in the words of Springy). Some songs in the April-May 2009 playlist were Rock music. For as I’ve heard, there were many disappointing LF music fans.

This month has gotten even worse. They decided to “get rid of the jazz music and add more rock music”. What kind of rock music? That’s how I wondered. If they put like old old old old rock music it’s gonna aggravate me. They might not play “For Real” by Jim Lum or “Rushing” by Moby. Those 2 songs are my favorite so far (oh, and not to mention anything Ryan Farish). I still wonder the rock music part. One time (I hope you guys remember this) they played several LOT8s with vocal music. Nickelback “Far Away”, and Death Cab For Cutie “Soul Meets Body”. I really enjoyed it but it felt weird of them playing vocal music on the LOT8s. (This was in 2007).

Heres my IMO. I have decided to stay neutral on this. I can’t decide and may never be able to decide which side to take. I can’t also have two friends having a different opinion. I mean, I do enjoy rock music, alternative, or indie, but this music that I am hearing is not the rock music I expect to hear on the LOT8s. You are welcome to comment about this but your comments cannot turn me around from being neutral.

Today...they stopped playing the music and turned into "Trammel Starks-a-thon" What is the sign of that?

Okay look people I don't hate scene kids but hate how so many of them have quite a shitty personality. I am not an emo bashing on scene kids, because i'm not emo but a person who likes to expose the truth.
Note: emo and scene are different
If you have more than 10 of these qualities then your pretty fucking scene, and not in a good way. I'll admit i have a couple of these qualities, just some not even 3.
BTW I got this information from my experience with scene people like some of my friends, myspace friends, people i don't like, my ex girlfriends who were scene, and i even got info from some local metalheads.

1. You get mad and bitch at people when they call you scene even though you go on the internet to look up "how to be scene"
2. You have a bad personality and still manage to have alot of friends of equal or lesser personalities.

An Earth Day Special: Anistorm's Ways To Be Green

Happy Earth Day!! I just came up with some ways to be green...check them out:

-Conserve Water....One drop of water can cost you on your water bill.

- Change from regular soft white light bulbs to Fluorescent, energy-saving light bulbs that lasts up to 7 or 9 years. (WARNING: handle these bulbs with care. If you break them, they will release a certain gas and will make you faint. Trust me, it has happened to me.)

-Make sure you eat greens, too.

-If you have a yard and your yard has more brown than green, try gardening! Plant a tree in your yard! Plant some flowers! Just plant something.

-Make your own ice cubes. It's a waste of time, and money to buy a bag of ice.

-When you take notes in school, try not to waste so much lined paper. Try fitting every single notes on one sheet of paper (front and back,) all 33 lines (on college ruled paper, 25 for wide ruled). You save a billion trees.

-When you buy a bottled water, make sure you reuse it!!!!

-Always unplug cell phone chargers. They can waste so much electricity.

Anyways...I hope some of these help make the world a better place! Gotta love the green!

The Reason Why Pluto Is Not A Planet Anymore

Have you ever wondered why Pluto is not a planet anymore? After years of astronomers and scientists discovering something about Pluto, they decided to kick it off the solar system. My Astronomy professor has one of the reasons why...meaning the one I am writing is the main reason.

In the words of Dr. Russel J. Lavery, IVC Astronomer.

Pluto is not a Planet anymore because scientists and astronomers 15 years ago have discovered Ice Pellets that look similar to Pluto. Those ice pellets do orbit with Pluto, but if those pellets join Pluto, then we won't tell if the planet is orbiting or not. It does seem that they are orbiting Neptune. Some Pellets are the size of Pluto, however, it is not considered a planet at all.

Why I Despise Riding The Bus

As you may all have know, I take the City Transit (aka the bus) to go to school. And everyday stupid stuff happens. That’s why I never have a “nice ride”. Here are ten reasons why I hate riding the bus….literally.

1.The bus drivers are so evil, they act like the school bus drivers.

2.Old people have priority (I understand that), but do they have to push me to the back without asking me politely?

3.The phrase “Ladies First” never exists.

4.99.99% of the bus riders do not use the pull-down cord to request to stop at a certain bus stop.

5.The bus is NOT wheelchair accessible. (Maximum limit is 2 wheelchairs, the third one is always left out and has to wait for the next available bus and seating.)

6.Some drivers don’t know when the next bus will come.

7.If you miss the bus, you have to wait approx. an hour and a half for the next one.

8.NEVER sit in the back. It’s not safe, it’s too dangerous, too much grafitti, etc!!!!

9.For people that are coming from Mexicali, the bus is considered a taxi for them, referring back to reason numero 4.

10.Children have also the priority but stay away from the ones that are sick.

My Version Of St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!!
My favorite color is green, and that’s why, March 17 is the day I can wear any green I want, without my mom being the fashion police saying “Ana, that green shirt is hideous, wear a different shirt!”
Mom, you hate green, don’t you?
And yet she does.
Green has been my favorite color since I was a baby! Yes I fell in love with the color green when I was in diapers. My parents bought me everything pink, but I hated pink so much. I am very obsessed, and some people think I have OCD, which it’s not true at all. I know St. Patricks Day is an Irish holiday, and I know very little of what the holiday meant.
All I know is this: If you don’t wear green, you get pinched. Simple as that. If you wear green, no one will bother you and those that are greeners pinch non-greeners (the ones that do not wear green or don’t care about St. Patricks Day). I think it’s fun!
So the whole “pinching” for me began during the 5th grade when it was the only St. Patricks day that I never wore green. I mean, before the 5th grade I only wore school uniform and no one bothered to pinch me. Now that I don’t wear school uniform anymore (I was attending elementary school in Colton), then some girl pinched me (and she was wearing all green). She asked me “WHERE’S YOUR GREEN?” so impolitely. I was like “Idk, I don’t have anything green.” She then pinched me again. The whole fifth grade classroom turned into a pinchfest for me all because I never wore any green.
The pain followed me to the 6th grade, and now in middle school.
Of course I did learn my lesson and wore a green shirt on St. Patricks Day of 2001. That year I went waaaaay too far when it comes to pinching. I never knew that the school enforced a NO PINCHING policy (meaning if someone sees you pinching, you will get in serious trouble, because supposedly pinching is considered Sexual Harrassment…WTF?), so I was very unaware about the policy and went to pinch a very cute guy that wasn’t wearing any green at all. My 6th grade counselor saw me and took me to the office. I was suspended for the rest of the day and I had a week’s worth of detention. Yes, I am a bad girl.
So I promised myself I wouldn’t go too far in the next couple of St. Patricks Days. 7th, 8th, and then, 9th grade (Freshman year), I went too far again and since Adam (we were best friends back then)didn’t wear green, he became one of my victims. That year I made a record of pinching 17 people. I didn’t even get in trouble! I am willing to go higher but since I was moving a lot, then, I had to wait.
So, now 4 years later and today’s St. Patrick’s Day is going pretty well. My current number is 9, and I don’t think it will go higher. I mean, 20 % of the college is not wearing green, because those people in that percentage either don’t know what’s St. Patrick’s Day, hate green, don’t know WTF today is, who’s Patrick, etcetera. El Centro, it’s all ghetto, I am sorry.
So, I hope you are all enjoying your St. Patrick’s Day. I have an appointment with my archenemy who has a birthday today after math class. Her name is Patsy and she was born today. She is not wearing green today so she is my main target when I see her. *insert evil laugh* I heart St. Patrick’s Day! :D

Welcome To "Twitter-ing"

So, idk when this site was developed or invented or I guess, built. But it has exploded the internet revolution.

How did I find this so awesome? I got three words for you: Abrams, And, Bettes.

A&B announced Thursday that they are "twittering" from Twitter, so you know me, as an A&B fan, I went online during the commercial break to check it out. It seems that Steph and Mike actually check on their tweet replies, and some of them do get on the air.

To combine the subject to another, I've been telling you that February 20th is the day my life is a Turning Point. Well, guess what, when I thought that Evening Edition coming to an end was my Turning Point, well, I told myself, think again. A&B got my Tweet on the air!!! THAT was the turning point. I guess it was the best Turning Point so far (despite the ones I faced in the past years).

Ok well anyways. My Tweet got on the air, also my good friend from TWC Today, J.T. he got several Tweets on the air. (He must be famous I guess haha).

So the main thing about "Twitter" is that you can follow your friends on what they are doing. It's like you're updating your status every five minutes or so. It's not like Myspace or Facebook. You just update your friends on what you're doing, and they can comment on your status.

I got several friends, on there, including Zach, J.T. and Autumn has planned to fix her account soon, so soon she'll be on. Adam doesn't know yet, and I would LOVE to tell him about this.

Inspiration Dies (A Tribute To Kristina Abernathy)

On February 3, 2009, A news article was reporting that The WeatherChannel (TWC), has laid off 4 Veteran Meteorologists.

The
four that were laid off were:

**Rich
Johnson (Appears on EE West Coast with Sharon Resultan weekdays)

**Mark
Mancuso (IDK where he is, I haven't seen him for like ever)

**Kristin
Dodd (Appears on weekends with Adam Berg)

**And
last but not least, the one that stopped the whole world of TWC
FanWorld: Kristina Abernathy.

Today,
inspiration dies.

As I
reacted to this news, I was crying...because it was so unexpecting,
that Kristina Abernathy was laid off...

I was
in the 7^th grade...January 14, 2003 was the exact date. I
was just flipping the channels and all of the sudden, the remote
flipped to The Weather Channel. I was about to change the channel
until I saw Kristina coming on. Kristina had a black suit and a
lavender shirt. I stayed on just to see what the weather would be
like tomorrow. I spent my two hours (3:00 to 5:00) just watching her,
and Carl Parker.

At
that night, I remember I had a really great dream. I had a dream that
I was working at TWC, with Kristina. She told me the basics of
becoming a meteorologist. After that day, I finally found my future
dream, and this is where my whole “weather background” began.

So,
everyday right after school, I get home, turn on the TV, and TWC
(soon it became known as PM Edition during my 8^th grade
year), and I even do my homework while Kristina gives me the
forecast, and the weekly planner.

So
pretty much PM Edition became my favorite show...until Kristina and
Carl Parker were split up.

I
still kept my head up and found her on weekend mornings working with
Kevin Robinson. I had to fix my viewing schedule...in the morning...

But I
don't know why...even when I added Stephanie Abrams and Mike Bettes
in my favorites, I still haven't forgotten Kristina at all! One thing
I really, really, really like about her is that she is very confident
wearing glasses. I mean, when she started wearing them, I felt
confident wearing my glasses. During Freshman, Sophomore, and half of
Junior year, I wasn't that confident at all. I felt like a geek.
After Junior year I felt very confident.

When I
moved again, I was happy that Kristina was reunited with Carl Parker.
I just think they are the best paring ever. The only difference is
that they are on weekends but I was okay with it. It was like 7^th
grade all over again.

Kristina,
I just want to say thank you for inspiring me the weather when I was
just 12 years old. You were my first favorite meteorologist on TWC
(before I got into Stephanie Abrams and Mike Bettes). You will be
missed, and also Kristin Dodd, Rich Johnson, and Mark Mancuso as
well. All were awesome and will be truly missed. Not only by myself,
but some other TWC fans who adored you also. You started my whole
“weather background”, and I will let it continue. I'm taking your
inspiration with me. Like I said, you will sorely be missed. I will
never ever ever ever forget you!!!!!!!

Why I LOVE Winter?

Why I LOVE Winter?

Reason why I write this is because Why I Love Winter week has been debuted on TWC this week.

So they ask viewers like me, "WHY do I LOVE WINTER?"

Well, I'm not a snow person, and the reason why is that I am a southern California native. I'm "supposed" to get used to the sunny and warm days here. But in the winter days, we do use the mittens, the scarves, the boots, the coats, the jackets, the sweaters, the WHATEVER, only because temperatures in the morning dip into the 30's. I use the cold clothing just like the people in the north!! In the winter, we get the rain, instead of snow. In C-Town, I always see the snow falling on the mountains, creating a spectacular view from my old house (where I used to live). I loved that view from my window. Now that I live in the desert, it's just not the same anymore. There's not even a winter season in El Centro. Like my ex-math support teacher from junior year Mr. Gertenbach said, "We never get Winter. All we get is Summer and Fall".

I really do miss the snow, and when I was living at C-Town as a young girl, every winter me and my family travel up to Oak Tree Village (home of the world-famous apple farm) which is located about 30 miles. Oak Tree Village is a little town where it is everything apple. In the winter they sell apple cinnamon tea, fresh hot apple pies, apple cobbler, etc. And in the summer and fall, they always do their world famous apple slushie. You can also press your own apple cider!!! I am looking forward to visiting Oak Tree Village again soon...probably I'll be able to visit with Adam when I am finally independent.

So I guess I'm still on Stephanie Abrams' side on the snow...but I don't want to go that far yet. I hate the extreme heat, but I hate the extreme cold. Yeah, I'm talking about the cons about winter. Winter can kill me (or rather, get me sick). I'm one person that gets sick in the winter and that's it. I despise getting the stuffy nose, and getting outside in the cold. I keep on forgetting to take my vitamin C (yes that is my winter medication, I HAVE to take Vitamin C. Miss a day, you get sick). Also, I hate winter because El Centro doesn't snow...nor rains. I'm more used to rainy days like C-Town.

Well, and that's why I LOVE (or hate) Winter.

My Dream With Abrams & Bettes

OMG I can't stop thinking about this dream I had last night. It seemed so real I kept on thinking that it happened just yesterday.

It all started when I got to meet Autumn for the first time in person in my visit to Atlanta, Georgia. We still have the passion and obsession for Abrams & Bettes. As we both strolled and visited downtown, we both saw a familiar face at a department store: Mike Bettes!!! Autumn screamed. But we didn't want to scare him off or something. So, we came up to him said hi. He was kind and stuff. He even gave us autographs. We showed him how much we admired him. And to top it off, he invited us for dinner at his house the next day. So the next day came and Autumn and I were super-duper excited. We had to dress perfectly for Mike, and we were starving...we didn't expect Mike to cook!! As it rolled around, I had a rental car and I drove with Autumn to Mike's house. We came in and his place was incredible, and the whole house smelled like fried turkey. (in fact dreamwise, he made fried turkey). The dinner table was like a thanksgiving feast, it had turkey, mashed potatoes, cooked vegetables, dinner rolls, and for dessert, triple-chocolate-chip cake, with cookie dough ice cream. Mike told us that someone else would be joining us here. And indeed he did, Stephanie Abrams came. I was so excited! And she sat next to me!!! I felt like I want to scream, but I had to hold my breath. So, Mike introduced us to Stephanie, and we started eating. When we ate, Mike and Stephanie told us a little more about A&B, and how things are shaping up. Autumn and I told them about our future goals of becoming meteorologists. And of course, Mike and Stephanie gave us advice about that. I remember one part when Stephanie said "do all of your math homework,". She told me personally, "take every single math class, even discrete math classes." because I had told her that I go to college. After eating we chilled and talked at Mike's living room. Stephanie told me that she had read one of my fanfics. She read Undiscovered Weather, one of the best fanfics I have written. She told me it was awesome. Mike and Autumn were getting along so great...even though Autumn was blushing at times :P.
On that time, Stephanie and I had so much in common, especially the part that we both like the Florida Gators. Mike talked about the time he did the Gator Chomp one time, and he said that his buckeyes will be crowned champs next year. As it all came to an end, we had to say goodbye to Mike, and Stephanie stayed with us. She told us that she can give us a tour of the A&B studio the next day. We were excited. When we returned to the hotel room, me and Autumn fell asleep in our beds, thinking about tomorrow....

The next day (today), I didn't wake up in Atlanta, I woke up in El Centro. My room smelled like turkey...but it turned out that my grandma was cooking turkey legs for dinner, since we ate Tortas. I swear to Adam and Serafina, that this dream I explained to you above...seemed so REAL it felt like it happened yesterday. Ohh man...I wonder if I am able to dream about the A&B tour??? Ohh I hope so. Stephanie seemed so nice and funny in that dream, and Mike looked HOT. I kept on saying "this weekend I went to Atlanta with Autumn to visit Mike and Stephanie" instead of "this weekend I did nothing but talk to Adam on ventrilo, and went shopping with my mom". I should start looking at reality this time...I'm just overwhelmed about the dream!!!

How was everyone's Thanksgiving?

First of all, I had turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, ham, dinner rolls, sparkling apple cider (kinda like champagne, but it tastes like apple, and it's free of alcohol), and...OMG I can't remember.

Well, there's a tradition held for the DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING. During thanksgiving, we eat, eat, eat, eat, eat and what's the last thing? Oh yeah, eat. But what else after the DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING?

All of the sudden, department stores, malls and other stores start to lower prices, lower than "rollback" prices, and announce to open their stores as early as 4 AM. This is known as BLACK FRIDAY. This day is when a person who wants something (like me, I wanted a printer) plans to get up super-duper early and get to the store at the opening time.

BUT BEWARE: Lack of parking spaces, overcrowding of stores, fights, police cars surrounding the store, store workers checking if you don't steal stuff, people stealing stuff from your carts, crying babies...OMG.

For my personal experience, this is my first time going shopping on BLACK FRIDAY. Me and my sister Adriana have been planning on this since we found out the following things on sale:

---An HP Printer/Scanner/Copier

---A 19" Plasma TV

---A bagless, cordless Vacuum

---A Hannah Montana doll (noo I can't guarantee they will be available!!)

---A Lifetime supply of plastic containers (Mom wants some)

So, this morning I woke up at 4:00. My dad was gonna enter work at 5:00, so he gave me a jump start. I got up, fed my cats Destiny and Serafina, and woke up Adriana also. We have planned to get the items above at Walmart, and they open at 5. Alexa and Angelica had to come with us. I had to wear my Florida Gators sweatshirt for luck. I am hoping for the printer to be there in my hands.

As we arrived, we couldn't believe the amount of people occupying every parking space. My sister dropped me off, so I can go fight the customers for that printer. As I entered the store. There were lines to check out, from one side of the store to the other!! And the majority of the carts were filled with plasma TV's, Xbox 360's, Laptops, Computers, mostly electronic stuff. (Cameras were at 50 dollars, laptops were at 300 dollars). The Electronics section of Walmart was at it's worst, because of the cheapest electronics I just mentioned.

So, I made my luck. I found out that there were printers still available. So I had to dodge every cart in front of me to get it. I grabbed one, stole a cart (haha not really, I just grabbed one at the front entrance, because no one claimed it). And waited for my sisters to come.

So, we all grabbed the TV, the vacuum, and the lifetime supply of containers (The Hannah Montana doll was sold out...sorry Angelica).

Oh and there was one thing I didn't mention before sharing my experience: BEWARE...I MEAN BEWARE...of super-duper-very-mery-OMG-LONG LINES.

This is like waiting to cross the border from Mexicali to Calexico. I made a record of an hour and a half just to check out.

So I don't know about you guys. This is barely my first time. And you know what...I WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN!!!!!! hahaha.

So ok, I'm gonna rest. I woke up too early. Anistorm OUT.
